Farmers Bank & Trust is proud to celebrate four generations of hometown ownership and is committed to the communities of Northwest Kansas. W.R. Horton was a founder and one of the original stockholders and Directors of the bank. W. R. “Bill” Horton, Jr. began working at the bank after attending Kansas University and succeeded W.R. as President and Chairman of the Board, until his death in 1981. His son, Barney Horton, started his banking career in 1970, becoming President and Chairman of the Board for 30 years. Fourth-generation leadership is now represented with BD Horton, who recently accepted the position of Chairman of the Board.
